What you’ll be doing:

  • Utilize experience in front and back end technologies to build software to support ongoing NIH projects
  • Work with scientists to develop computational methods and tools to support new assay and implement data analyses
  • Design, build and maintain databases that support biotechnology research and data-flow applications to streamline and automate collection of new data into data repositories.
  • Develop and execute software unit and test cases to test system functionality, performance, security and scalability.
  • Work with scientists to develop computational methods and tools to support new assay and implement data analyses
  • Maintains data analysis pipelines, monitors quality metrics and analyzes data sets
  • Perform testing using various methods to detect bugs in new and existing code

Full Stack Developer with SharePoint Expertise

What you’ll do

  • Participate in SharePoint software development, prototyping and code reviews with a small team of developers
  • Understand the needs of the customer or business and utilize this knowledge to develop applications that are consistent with the specific needs and requests of the customer
  • As a full-stack developer, you will code and test back-end services in Node JS and front-end in HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, and Angular JS
  • Build custom web components and deploy components in a SharePoint 2013 environment.
  • Create message based web services for SharePoint using CSOM
  • Design, implement and/or use SharePoint RESTful web services
  • Implement modern and responsive user interfaces for the web and a variety of devices

What you know

Life Sciences Communication Internship Program  | Summer 2018  |  Hamilton, MT

 

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking a highly motivated intern to be our next intern and support our work at the Visual and Medical Arts Unit (VMA) of the Research Technologies Branch (RTB) at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories at the NIH.

The Visual and Medical Arts Unit (VMA), a division of the RTB at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) in Hamilton, MT, provides an extensive range of graphic design and photography support and services to biomedical researchers at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).  The VMA supports the NIAID in conducting basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases. For more than 60 years, NIAID research has led to new therapies, vaccines, diagnostic tests, and other technologies that have improved the health of millions of people in the United States and around the world.

 

The RTB, provides intramural NIAID investigators with state-of-the-art technologies in the fields of genomics, flow cytometry, both light and electron microscopy, structural biology, protein chemistry, bioinformatics and visual arts.
