    Job Description:


    As part of the informatics group, this individual will be in involved in the operation of multiple screening platforms. We are seeking for a self-motivated, collaborative research associate to join our team. This individual will be studying therapeutic translation on a system-wide level as a scientific and operational problem.


    The informatics group plays a key role in the operation of multiple screening platforms (small molecules, RNAi, ADME, drug combinations) and large-scale infrastructure. Informatics scientists are committed to research and development in all areas of molecular informatics. The group provides an intellectually stimulating environment and is interested in a diverse range of informatics topics that vary in scale from small molecules to phenotypes and other high-level biomedical datatypes. High-throughput screening technology directly depends on the informatics team’s computational infrastructure to convert measured responses from millions of microtiter plate wells to dose-response curves, enabling the identification of active and inactive compounds. Given that a screen can generate results for more than 400,000 compounds, the candidate is expected to provide day-to-day support of data processing and analysis from high- and low-throughput screens. The candidate is also expected to contribute to the development of novel methodologies to enhance the analysis of high-throughput and high-content screening data for small molecule screens.






    • Provide informatics data analysis support for general NCGC therapeutic project high-throughput screens
    • Provide informatics data analysis support for HEAL initiative projects
    • Analyze data in both early pilot and production of qHTS stages using NCATS software tools, to deposit data into NCATS’ probeDB high-throughput screening database
    • Analyze confirmation and secondary screening assays data
    • Work with informatics team leaders on data “review and sign off” process
    • Deposit project screening data into PubChem, as needed
    • Collaborate with informatics software developers to support qHTS data browsing and analysis
    • Assist with evaluation and annotation of qHTS data to help improve the workflow and facilitate drug discovery process
    • Collaboration with laboratory specialists to deliver high-throughput data in a timely fashion




    • S. in an informatics-related discipline or equivalent
    • 1 – 3 years of related experience.
    • Experience with Java development and data analysis environments
    • A background in biology and experience in therapeutic drug discovery or preclinical development are preferred
    • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
    • Strong oral and written English communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail
