Informatics Research Associate
Axle Informatics is a scientific research and information technology company that offers innovative computer services, informatics, and bioresearch solutions to research centers and healthcare organizations around the globe. With experts in software engineering, bioinformatics, molecular research, and program management, we focus on developing and applying technological tools and scientific techniques to empower the world of research. We work with some of the top research organizations and facilities in the country including multiple institutes at the National Institutes of health (NIH), which means candidates will be receiving the best on-the-job training possible in this field.
As part of the informatics group, this individual will be in involved in the operation of multiple screening platforms. We are seeking for a self-motivated, collaborative research associate to join our team. This individual will be studying therapeutic translation on a system-wide level as a scientific and operational problem.
The informatics group plays a key role in the operation of multiple screening platforms (small molecules, RNAi, ADME, drug combinations) and large-scale infrastructure. Informatics scientists are committed to research and development in all areas of molecular informatics. The group provides an intellectually stimulating environment and is interested in a diverse range of informatics topics that vary in scale from small molecules to phenotypes and other high-level biomedical datatypes. High-throughput screening technology directly depends on the informatics team’s computational infrastructure to convert measured responses from millions of microtiter plate wells to dose-response curves, enabling the identification of active and inactive compounds. Given that a screen can generate results for more than 400,000 compounds, the candidate is expected to provide day-to-day support of data processing and analysis from high- and low-throughput screens. The candidate is also expected to contribute to the development of novel methodologies to enhance the analysis of high-throughput and high-content screening data for small molecule screens.
The diversity of Axle’s employees is a tremendous asset. We are firmly committed to providing equal opportunity in all aspects of employment and will not tolerate any illegal discrimination based on age, race, gender, religion, national origin, disability, marital status, covered veteran status, sexual orientation, status with respect to public assistance, and other characteristics protected under state, federal, or local law and to deter those who aid, abet, or induce discrimination or coerce others to discriminate.
