    We are looking for a Research Associate- Flow Cytometry to support our work at NIH. The position will be based in Bethesda/Rockville, MD

    Responsibilities

    • Providing expertise in flow cytometric analysis and sorting technologies by performing a full range of complex assignments and projects that involve application of knowledge of flow cytometry.
    • Providing flow cytometric analysis to all intramural investigators
    • Consulting with researchers on design of sorting experiments
    • Operating (analysis and sorting), scheduling, and troubleshooting a FACS Aria II 4-Laser flow cytometer and maintaining a BD Fortessa and LSR II
    • Maintains 5 other cell sorters, two LSR II’s, LSR Fortessa, FACS CANTO, AMNIS ImageStream and FACS Symphony.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in operating a variety of cell sorters including BD Fortessa, LSR II, and FACSARIA II
    • Experience operating multi-parameter cell sorters
    • High skill level with flow cytometry experimental design, processing and analysis
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively in a team-oriented environment 

     

    Requirements 

     

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, or related field.
    • 10+ years of flow cytometry experience
    • Experience in the operation of multiparameter cell sorters is highly desirable
