Marketing Internship Program | Fall 2016 | Rockville, MD

 

Axle Informatics is looking for a quick learning, detail-oriented student to be the next intern in a high-performing, fast-paced marketing department that offers innovative services to one of the top medical research centers in the world, the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

 

Axle Informatics is an information technology company that offers innovative computer services, informatics, and enterprise solutions to research centers and healthcare organizations around the globe. With experts in software engineering, bioinformatics and program management, we focus on developing and applying technology tools and techniques to empower decision-making and accelerate the discovery in translational research.

 

We are looking for a proactive and sociable individual to become our new Social Media & Public Relations Intern! Our ideal intern will be working closely with our marketing department to increase Axle’s overall presence.

 

What you’ll be doing (with training of course):

  • Assisting, planning and execution of marketing events
  • Maintain social media updates, databases and website
  • Manage Axle’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Keeping up to date with industry-related news
  • Copywriting for press releases and email blasts
  • Writing frequent content responding to bioscience and IT news for Axle’s blog
  • Demonstrate strategies to inspire the internal staff and external audiences
  • Research, perform and engage strategies for data collection and application of social media analysis
  • Assist with administrative tasks
  • Assess opportunities to analyze current client data for insights

Skills we’d love for you to have (but not required):

  • Basic knowledge of web development (websites, social media, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and track multiple projects and processes simultaneously
  • Able to help with collection and synthesis of data regarding market intelligence
  • Able to provide proficiency and creativity with Microsoft Office suite, Photoshop, Illustrator and basic photo-editing software.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as .NET, CSS, or WordPress
  • Strong work ethic and able to work under pressure
  • Ability to be detailed-oriented and provide critical thinking
  • Previous analytic experience (classroom or internship)
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

 

Requirements:

  • Current junior or senior working towards Economics, Marketing, Business degree or related field
  • Able to dedicate a minimum of 20 hours/week
  • Able to work in a team environment with changing priorities
  • Advanced online research capabilities and advanced PC skills (Microsoft suite)
